Phang Nga Bay is one of the world’s most spectacular cruising grounds and has featured in the 007 movie “The man with the Golden Gun”.

The shallow bay is 400 square kilometers, features 42 islands and lies between the island of Phuket and mainland Malay Peninsula. Largely the area is protected by national park and adheres to local laws regarding the preservation of flora and fauna in the region.

The dramatic limestone rocks have hidden caves and blue lagoons ideal for kayaking and the mangroves are exiting to explore by small boat.

The islands south and west of Phuket are famous for their white sands and pristine waters and have become a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.

The Similans are a group of nine islands in the Andaman Sea and part of Phang Nga province. The area is well known for its diverse and magnificent diving along with an abundance of marine life.

Guests are welcomed on-board and we will make a short cruise to an anchorage near Ko Phanak in Phang Nga Bay.

This area is ideal for water sports or discovering the caves and lagoons by kayak, perhaps encountering a macaque monkey or giant fruit bat.

A speed boat ride to nearby mangroves is a fascinating nature tour where you can catch sight of any number of water birds that make their home there.

Enjoy a leisurely morning taking in the dramatic scenery of the limestone rock formations that make up Phang Nga Bay. A short speed boat ride can take guests to the nearby Sea Gypsy Village on Ko Pan Yi.

The fishing village is built almost entirely on stilts over the water and its inhabitants’ livelihood is made from fishing the shrimp and shellfish in the bay.

Day 3

An early start and a 3.5 hour cruise east through the bay will take us to the Ko Hong group of islands for more water sports and kayaking.

A speed boat ride can take guests to discover the small bays and deserted beaches of the surrounding islands. Some of the caves in this area are home to the swallow who tirelessly weaves nests that are harvested for the Chinese delicacy, bird nest soup.

This anchorage is within a short distance to the renowned Six Senses Ko Yao Yai resort where guests are welcome to visit their world class spa for massage and beauty treatments.

A 3.5 hour cruise south will take us to Ko Racha Noi where the crystal clear waters are beckoning. Enjoy water sports, snorkeling and swimming in the bays or take a walk on the pure white sandy beaches.

After another splendid meal on the aft deck we will embark on an overnight passage to the Similan Islands National Park.

Day 5

Arriving early morning at Ko Similan the main island of the group, ready for a full day of water sports and snorkeling. These islands are famous for their abundant sea life, pristine waters and exceptional diving. Some of the beaches here are used as hatcheries by sea turtles in the area.

Koh Similan is famous for its sail rock which is an ideal spot to watch the sun setting over the Andaman Sea.

After dinner we will embark on an overnight passage back to the west coast of Phuket.

Arriving on the shores of Surin Bay guests are welcome to visit the well-known Amanpuri resort. The clear waters of Surin Bay are ideal for water sports, swimming and snorkeling.

In the evening a trip to the famous Patong Beach can be arranged for an insight into the party scene of the island or simply take in the glittering lights of the shore from Northern Sun’s decks.

An early start to cruise south back to Phang Nga Bay where the journey of discovery all began.
