The Beautiful Andamans

The Andamans are an isolated group of over 300 islands in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. Many of these islands are unexplored and remain dense with exotic jungle and thriving with wildlife. A small number of islands are home to primitive hunter-gatherer tribes untouched by the outside world.

The pristine marine eco system offers some of the most impressive snorkeling and diving in the world.

The Andaman Islands were declared a World Heritage Site in 2002, they are administered by India and abide by strict conservation rules.

Day 1

Depart Port Bair and cruise through McPherson Strait to the remote Twin Islands.

Water sports and fishing can be enjoyed in the late afternoon or simply admire the breathtaking scenery of surrounding islands and exotic jungle. Just 15 miles to the North West is an island inhabited by a cannibalistic tribe who have never had contact with the outside world. The island remains off-limits to outsiders.

Day 2

Morning snorkeling in the shallow sandy channel between the Twin Islands. This area is fringed with pristine coral reef and frequented by giant manta rays. These mantas have had little human contact and are completely unafraid.

In the afternoon, depart for the uninhabited Cinque Island, which has some of the finest beaches in the world. These beaches are important nesting sites for the leatherback turtles of the Indian Ocean.

Day 3

Spend the morning snorkeling along reef edges in the unspoiled waters of Cinque Island.

An afternoon walk on the island may offer a chance encounter with wild deer or a monitor lizard. The view point offers a superb vantage point for the evening sunset.

Day 4

Cruising south to Brother Island, a perfect cast away island with the nearest human inhabitants more than 100km away. The island is surrounded by miles of coral reef and sand banks, making it ideal for snorkeling, kayaking, fishing and exploring the inlets by small boat.

Day 5

A morning beach breakfast on South Brother Island is a perfect way to start the day. The island is covered with impenetrable jungle which gives way to shady trees at the water’s edge. The surrounding reefs are a favorite hunting ground for the huge dolphin population in the area.

Enjoy exploring the island and water sports for the day before cruising to Little Andaman Island in the afternoon.

Day 6

The west coast of Little Andaman Island is a superb wilderness area with miles of wild jungle fringed by white sandy beach and coral reef.

The many large estuaries along this coast line are ideal for fishing, bird watching and spotting salt water crocodiles. There are also some fascinating jungle walks in the area.

In the afternoon we will cruise north to the Sisters Islands. These islands are a pair of coral atoll islands with superb beaches and miles of idyllic shallow reef for snorkeling.

Day 7

Enjoy a morning snorkel and swim in the Sisters Island, before we depart to Port Blair.
